Skylab, what if you modify the alpha so that the mustang stays white but the stripes change color? That'd be an interesting mod big_smile

Vortex, I love how you said Americans have funny taste, haha. I did it so that people would know it worked, you can't miss it! Also, it's not "arabo-musulman" it's actually called "little-endian". LOL. Thanks for translating it though, hopefully it helps the French speakers here. Just to clarify, you cannot change the white strip color.

Hi, I show you how to change car colors in Driv3r PC. Currently the only known car is Ford Mustang in Miami. This will not work on consoles.

You need HxD hex editor (it's free) get it here - http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

I highly recommend making a backup of all BO3 files before doing ANY mods! Same applies to any other file you modify!

Go to Driv3r folder, Configs > Vehicles > BigVO3. Open miami.BO3

In HxD, make sure you have columns set to "16" (should be the default) and press CTRL + G. Type in "6F0" and make sure "begin" is selected.

The line should look like this:

[c]FF 00 00 00 8F 00 AA AA[/c]

We want to modify after the FF. 00 00 00 is a hexidecimal color. For sake of learning, we want a dark fuschia pink. When selecting a color, you can use Photoshop or another program to get hexidecimal color value. However, we are not done yet. For dark fuschia pink, hex value is "D8 00 FF", but we need to reverse byte order. This is because Driv3r is "little-endian", meaning read from right to left, not left to right. "D8 00 FF" becomes "FF 00 D8" because we reverse order of bytes only. "FF 00 8D" would be wrong. So "11 22 33" becomes "33 22 11" and "12 34 56" becomes "56 34 12". Got it? Good.

Now go back to line 6F0, enter our little-endian hexidecimal color, should look like this:

[c]FF FF 00 D8 8F 00 AA AA[/c]

Do not change first FF or 8F and anything after that. The next color is directly after "AA AA" and has same format as one we just edit. Each color is "Length: 8" as seen in bottom of HxD window if you select the code. Save file and check in game. Choose Miami and the first car, the Mustang (aka '69 Bruiser). Does not matter where you spawn, I like Tanner's house though.

Did it work? If so, you see this:

fuschiastang.jpg

Here are addresses for all Mustang colors in case you are confused:

6F0, 6F8, 700, 708, 710, 718, 720, 728, 730, 738, 740, 748, 750, 758, 760. Address 768 is not a color, do not change it or you will break the game!

If you feel adventurous, you can try looking for other car colors. I do not know of any other car locations, too many files to check!

Any new progresses in Driv3r modding will be found here (Driver Madness). Vehicle color progress may or may not be found
here.

Happy modding!

I'm sure someone with at least half a brain could figure out what to do if you could at least point us in the right direction. Like what kind of programs we'd need or something.

Since you decided to block me on YouTube, I'll post here.

Wtf? Who do you think you are… seems like your parents failed at teaching you how to act in a public space. I don't owe you anything sir, and you can't hate on me for this. If you want to modify the game, then fucking do it yourself. Ever thought of this possibility?? Omg…

Did you ever stop to think that maybe nobody has a god damn clue on what to do? Everything in DSF is compressed and there isn't any documentation ANYWHERE on what kind of programs to use. Xentax has nothing on modding DSF. None of the other archiver tools have a plugin/script to open DSF's compressed LUA files. You're literally the only person who's figured out how to do anything and you require people to beat you at your own game. Why? Because you know people can't beat you. Where's the sense in that? Jeff didn't make us do anything in order for him to release his tools for modding Driver 1 (which was literally unmoddable for over 9 years) so what's your beef? Afraid people won't bow down to you after you release your secrets?

You've been posting all of your progress here on Driver Dimension and on YouTube for a while now, bragging about how awesome you are for getting this stuff done in the game. When it got to the point people wouldn't stop bugging you on how to do it, your response is to challenge people to something stupid that basically revolves around you. When I read your challenge video on YouTube, you sounded like someone who was begging for attention, because if it wasn't for you modding DSF, nobody would jump onto a server with you anyways. And from what I understand, if someone beats you, they only get to know one secret of yours - which means there will be many races of countless losses, finally someone wins, and they keep it all to themself. They probably don't even know a Driver fansite exists. Your modding secrets will be lost in translation, and DSF will never get the kind of recognition it deserves. If DSF was moddable, the people over at Xentax would've cracked it by now. But you're a programmer, I remember your website based on PHP, and it's quite obvious you're fluent in programming and know how to reverse-engineer code. That's what a programmer does.

You should really lighten up and just share with your fellow Driver fans your little "modding secrets" so the community will actually have something to do with a game that has little to no replay value (except for online).

On a side note, Olanov had something to say to you before you blocked him too.

Olanov in response to ManoelMDSF a écrit :

Ever thought of the possibility of just sharing knowledge to open up more possibilites and interest for modding in this game, hm? Not everyone has time to learn scripting, whatever it is to modify the content like this.

Instead you act like an egoistic faggot who's only revealing 'secrets' to those you compete against during the online game, which you could easily manipulate for your own good seeing capabilities you have on modding. Yes, sir, I and others has the right to hate you for this. GG.

#7 Re : Driver San Francisco » Les voitures secrètes » 25-09-2012 01:58:51

You could easily tell us how to mod it (like any other modder would) but you expect people to play with you first before revealing anything. And not only that, but they can only have one little tidbit of information out of a bunch of it. That's not how it works. DSF is already dying as it is and you're only making things harder.

#8 Re : Driver San Francisco » Les voitures secrètes » 24-09-2012 20:52:27

Revs you're so full of yourself! Trying to make us beat you in order to get these "modding secrets"...how pathetic. One of the only chances we've had of modding DSF and you blew it because you're a greedy ****ing asshole. DSF is dead no thanks to you. G'day, sir.

I may or may not have discovered something about that placeholder image that was posted on the last page...

earlyunkown.png536404_368631753185514_614925370_n.jpg

Look at the center image. I finally figured out where I've seen this before! Awhile back, someone on their Facebook had posted a comment asking what game the middle picture represents, and they weren't allowed to comment. This was before Watch_Dogs was announced, and as we all know, Reflections has a big part in that game. This car, along with many other prototype vehicles that Reflections made for early DSF builds (SPECULATION ON MY END), may be making its way to the game Watch_Dogs wink

Yes, I believe you have to use these lines:

[name] [target id]

DisableTargetArrow 0
DisableTargetPulse 0
DisableTargetTracer 0

But I could be wrong.

EDIT:

I just tested that out...no, it didn't work. Sorry.

Well, not really recorded, but it turns out you can change simple 3 values in the EXE and it enables a chase recording mode. I hate updating at 2 websites at once, so please follow this thread instead:

Thanks!

I'm not spending my money on this piece of crap. What a waste of 4 years of waiting. It's no wonder this game has a 12+ rating on it - IT'S A PIECE OF...FAIL!

I'm pre-ordering Test Drive Unlimited 2 and giving up on the Driver series. They have butchered the TRUE MEANING OF DRIVER. Really, they're going back to their roots? The ONLY thing they're going back to is San Francisco. Otherwise, they have made Burnout: San Francisco! Reflections fails BADDDDDLY. Anyone agree with me? I've been a TRUE FAN SINCE DRIVER 1. But I know a bad game when I see it. Parallel Lines was better then this. Well, Reflections, this is your punishment for not listening to us. You have completely killed Driver. I wasted my whole friggin day waiting for this. SCREW YOU UBISOFT REFLECTIONS. You have officially committed genocide. Now Driver will be known as "that one little kid game that was once a 10/10 game..."

Goodbye, Driver.

Well, if it IS Driver: San Francisco...it better be a good game! But the name makes it seem like this will be based solely in San Francisco...

Technically it IS random. As in it may randomly spawn at X, X but can also spawn randomly at Y, Y. See what I mean?

Yeah man, Someone972 has already replaced multiple objects besides cars (They are way more difficult to replace).

We will definitely see model replacement very soon. And on a side note, he has gotten more blocks decoded - we now know (somewhat) where the random parked civ cars spawn now! Yay!

Want to know something cool? Look in FLAT.LEV, there are a bunch of beta car textures in there, including the beta Pontiac (looks almost exactly like yours).
